Welcome to Tilehouse Counselling

Tilehouse Counselling is a registered charity which provides subsidised, professional counselling for adults and young people (13+), in and around Hitchin. Our aim is to make counselling available to every single person who wants to access it, offering compassionate and confidential therapy in a safe space.

How can we help?

We’re BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) accredited and committed to the highest standards of care. While counselling is an unregulated profession, Tilehouse being an accredited organisation means that we only employ highly qualified and accredited counsellors - so you can trust that you’ll be in really safe hands. We offer:

  • Adult Counselling: Support for anxiety, depression, work stress, relationships and more.

  • Young People (13-18): Helping young people navigate challenges like school pressure, self-esteem, identity and.anxiety

  • For Businesses: Offering a professional, confidential counselling service for your employees through an EAP (Employee Assistance Programme).

Whether in person, online or by phone, we provide accessible services for everyone.

    What our Clients Say

  • “If I didn't receive help from Tilehouse, I would probably still be in the same emotionally abusive cycle.”

  • "My mental health would have gotten to the point where I would have dropped out of school.”

  • "My confidence has improved – I don’t feel scared to speak in class anymore. I have more friends now."

Make a Difference

We are funded by a mix of grants from charitable trusts, donations by local businesses, client contributions and fundraising events, as well as via generous supporters who fundraise on our behalf and leave a gift in their will. Every donation helps us reach more individuals in need.
