We are refreshing our charity’s Mission Statement at Tilehouse Counselling, and would like your views! We have a short 3 minute survey here to ask your opinion on a Mission Statement we have already worked on.

Start counselling with us

We currently have some day time availability, and we’re here to help when you feel ready.

Your first step is to book30-minute telephone consultation (£20). This is a friendly, informal conversation where we get to know a little about you/your young person, understand what’s brought you/them to counselling, and explore what kind of support you/they may need. There’s no pressure — it’s simply a chance for us to listen and guide you through what happens next.

If, together, we feel that Tilehouse Counselling is the right place for you/your young person, we will add you/them to our short waiting list. As soon as a counsellor who is well-matched to your/ their needs becomes available, we’ll get in touch to offer the first appointment. Fees and some other paperwork will be completed online prior to the first appointment.

The first counselling session is a gentle introduction. It’s a space to talk about what you are / your young person is  hoping for, to ask questions, and to understand how the counselling relationship works. Together with your/their counsellor, you’ll/they'll discus working methods such as session expectations, confidentiality, cancellations & number of sessions.

Parents/carers of under 18’s will be asked to make a voluntary contribution according to their means. Parents/carers often book their child into counselling and participate in the 30-minute telephone consultation, but you should have talked about counselling at home first, and if you are booking on behalf of someone aged 16 or over, we will need their consent before we can book & conduct an intake call with you. Parents/carers then need to respect the confidentiality of the clinical process and not attend the sessions alongside.

If you are 16-18 and feel you are not able to discuss counselling with your parents, please get in touch with our supportive office team to talk about options to access our service.

Whenever you decide to reach out, we’ll meet you with care, respect, and understanding.
